SAN CARLOS (CBS SF) - Two men were in custody after they assaulted a man at a house party near the San Carlos CalTrain station on Thursday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.
Jason Spears, 20, and Brenden Hopson, 22, got into a fight with a 22-year-old Foster City man at a house party in the 400 block of Laurel Street at about 3:30 a.m., Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
Hopson, a San Carlos resident, used a letter opener to slice the victim’s neck. Spears, a resident of Redwood City, then punched the victim in the face, Rosenblatt said.
Deputies found Spears at the scene and arrested him. Hopson fled the scene and a countywide broadcast was put out to find him.
Hopson turned himself in on Sunday at about 9:10 p.m., Rosenblatt said.
The victim was transported to receive treatment for the neck and facial lacerations suffered in the attack, Rosenblatt said.
Deputies arrested Spears for being drunk in public and for assault with a deadly weapon. Hopson was also arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, deputies said.
